More than 10% of the richest individuals living in the USA during 2018 are immigrants, according to the most recent listing of the Forbes 400. Taken together, the 43 foreign-born billionaires who made it on the 2018 Forbes 400 list are worth a total of $289 billion. These US immigration “success stories” moved to the United States from 20 countries around the globe which included: Argentina, Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, India, Israel, Italy, Pakistan, Romania, Russia, South Africa, South Korea, Taiwan, Turkey, Ukraine, and UK. OPENNESS TOWARD IMMIGRANTS IMPORTANT TO MOST AMERICANS

On October 9, 2018, the US-based Pew Research Center released the results of a nationwide poll of 1,754 American adults which discovered that a majority (68 percent) of people living in the United States think “openness” toward immigrants is “essential” for the country. The survey was conducted in September 2018 by the respected research center which studies the attitudes of people living in America and examines other key issues of national interest. THERE ARE NOW 44.5 MILLION IMMIGRANTS LIVING IN AMERICA

The foreign-born population of the United States has now reached 44.5 million, accounting for 13.7 percent of all people living in the USA (as of 2017), according to an analysis of US Census Bureau data. This is the largest foreign-born population to live in America in more than a century! Since 2010, 80% of new immigrants relocating to the United States came from Asia and Latin America; however, half of the immigrants currently living in the United States are from Latin America, while 31% are originally from Asia. Utah is the top state to live in the USA for median household income, according to an assessment by the financial website WalletHub. People living in Utah earn a median yearly salary of $64,725, they are the most satisfied with their careers, and they work the least amount of hours. The #2 best state to live in the United States for the highest median income ($64,725 annually) is Virginia, which is followed by #3 Minnesota ($63,407 median yearly income), 4th place Wyoming ($61,865 per year median income), and fifth-ranked Colorado with an annual median salary of $61,114. RANKING OF AMERICA’S BEST PUBLIC & PRIVATE SCHOOLS

The Niche website has released its fifth annual ranking of the best public and private schools in the America for 2018-2019, which could be a useful tool for parents. THESE STATES ARE TOP PLACES TO LIVE IN THE USA

Immigrants relocating to the United States naturally want to live in US states that have a high standard of living. A report released by CNBC in July 2018 evaluated each of the 50 states based upon a variety of quality of life measures and rated Vermont as the best place to live in America for quality of life. Among some of the factors that placed Vermont in the Number One spot are its clean environment, the good health of its population, very low violent crime rate, and the state’s anti-discrimination laws to protect all residents of diverse backgrounds. Overall, Vermont received the grade of A+ for its quality of life in 2018, according to this evaluation.
